This post is designed to have basic informations for english-speaking people, about the Episcopal Church in Foz do Iguaçu, Paraná, Brazil.

If you are a tourist or someone interested in knowing or visiting our community, you may find essential to get to know our history and schedules.

INFORMATION FOR ANGLOPHONES VISITORS AND TOURISTS

The Church of Saint Augustine By-The-Tower is part of the Episcopal Anglican Church of Brazil (IEAB), the official province of the Anglican Communion in our country. It is the only Episcopal Church in Foz do Iguaçu.

Our services are offered at 8 p.m. every sunday. We worship in a very broad church style. So, whatever you are anglo-catholic or protestant/evangelical, you will feel home. We use the Book of Common Prayer, the Hymnal, the Cancioneiro (local hymnal), and the bible.

Our adress is Street Mauricio Rezende Rodrigues, Number 143, Foz do Iguaçu. It is near the Town Courthouse (Fórum) and the RPC (Television Station). If you are using a taxi, you can show the taxi driver this graphic:


Unfortunately, our services are available only in portuguese. But still, you will be welcome as we speak the universal language of love. Also, there is always someone in the community who speaks english and will be glad to help you.

ABOUT THE EPISCOPAL ANGLICAN CHURCH OF BRAZIL (IEAB)




IEAB (Igreja Episcopal Anglicana do Brasil) is the oldest non-roman catholic church in Brazil, because the Anglican Church arrived and stablished since the economical relationships between Brazil and the British Empire. It was the Episcopal Church of USA that brought this tradition as a mission for Brazil. As it enlarged in numbers and territory, since 1965 the IEAB is independent from TEC and the 19th province of the Anglican Communion.



IEAB ordains women since 1985. It preaches a social gospel, being known for its commitment to fight against problems that affect vast portions of the Brazilian society, such as social inequalityland concentrationdomestic violenceracismhomophobia and xenophobia. The current primate is Francisco de Assis da Silva.
